Accessible, energy efficient housing for All
Drawing on hands-on experience in housing development and youth homelessness, she's focused on real solutions: building and preserving affordable housing, getting people rehoused fast, and getting wrap around services to families before they fall through the cracks.
Her playbook: expand supply, retrofit existing homes for energy efficiency, prevent evictions before they happen, and use a centralized data dashboard to track progress and cut what isn't working.

Quality, affordable healthcare for every Washingtonian
As a small business owner, Mary has faced the real challenges of finding consistent, affordable health insurance. She supports efforts toward universal healthcare, such as The Washington Health Trust (https://wholewashington.org/policy/),
She knows we need to restore gaps in Apple Health due to the Trump Administration's disastrous Medicaid cuts. She also believes we can use technology advancements to reduce prices while improving outcomes and reduce barriers to access.
It's also crucial that we invest in mental and behavioral health beds, particularly for youth and young adults, strengthen support for maternal and infant care, ensure access to reproductive healthcare (including restoring funding for abortion access, which the incumbent voted to cut). Finally, we need to make sure our eldercare is affordable and quality-driven and provide more caregiver and home care support for our most vulnerable elderly.

World-class, fully funded schools for every student
Mary's north star is simple: a child's education shouldn't depend on the property values in their neighborhood. Washington's courts already told us what we owe our kids - the state's paramount duty - and we're still not meeting it.
She'll push to fully fund what schools actually spend money on: special education without the arbitrary enrollment cap, materials and operating costs that reflect real prices, and school staff - counselors, nurses, paraeducators, bus drivers - funded at the levels students actually need, not a formula written a decade ago. She'll fix the levy and equalization structure so districts aren't forced to run local elections just to keep the lights on, and she'll invest in educator recruitment and retention so every classroom has a qualified teacher in it.
From early learning through career and technical education, dual credit, and apprenticeship pathways, she wants a system that works whether a student is headed to a four-year degree, a trade, or straight into a career - with transparent, school-level reporting so families can see progress for themselves.

Safer communities, common-sense gun laws
Mary's view is that this isn't about politics — it's about which of our neighbors make it home. Washington has already led on this, and the results are measurable: states with strong gun laws have lower gun death rates. She's not interested in relitigating settled ground; she's interested in finishing the job.
Her priorities: universal background checks so no sale happens with no questions asked, Extreme Risk Protection Orders that give families and law enforcement a way to temporarily separate someone in crisis from a firearm, secure storage requirements that prevent the unintentional shootings, youth suicides, and gun thefts that make up so much of the toll, and keeping weapons designed for mass casualties out of our communities.
She'll also fund the parts that don't make headlines — community violence intervention programs, behavioral health crisis response, and the enforcement capacity to make existing laws mean something. And she'll track it the way she tracks everything: clear outcome data, published regularly, so we know what's actually saving lives.

She knows firsthand that red tape, slow permitting, and capital gaps hold entrepreneurs back. Her fix: streamline licensing, cut unnecessary barriers, and expand access to funding - without sacrificing worker or consumer protections.
With a background in operations and manufacturing, she's equally focused on building the workforce behind those businesses - through apprenticeships, industry credentials, and training programs matched to real market demand.
And for veterans and immigrant entrepreneurs? Targeted mentorship, micro-grants, and planning resources to make sure Washington's doors are open to everyone ready to build.
